Frequently asked questions
Can I start work with my boyfriend/friend?
Yes, of course you can. However, both of you must complete the contact form, inform us of your request, and attend the interviews together. You will be accommodated together, but we cannot guarantee that you will have the same shifts.
In addition, for couples/groups we have introduced a new service package that includes a group discount on our services.
I didn’t receive an interview invitation and nobody contacted me.
It is quite possible that our email ended up in your spam or bulk folder. Our emails usually contain links to online interviews, which can sometimes cause them to be filtered elsewhere. We recommend checking all folders in your email inbox.
All invitations and emails are sent from the domain @karyonrsc.com.
Another possibility is that instead of completing the contact form, you may have accidentally signed up for the newsletter.
If the issue persists, please contact us directly at info@karyonrsc.com, including your CV and a short cover message.
Can I start work with my partner and a child?
Unfortunately, no. At the moment we are not able to arrange family relocation. We are considering this option for next year as part of a new planned project, as several families have already approached us. However, at present and in the near future, this is not possible.
I don’t speak English – do you have anything for me?
For some job offers from our Partners, English is not required. Our Partners in Spain require Spanish. Some of our Partners in Cyprus do not require any foreign languages at all – these are mainly marketing roles conducted in Czech.
In any case, we recommend carefully reading the details of each advertised position, where you will find clear information on whether a foreign language is required.
How long can I go abroad for?
That depends on you and mutual agreement. We are able to arrange summer/seasonal work, but our primary focus is on long-term positions.
During the initial interview, you will tell us your expectations and preferences, and based on that we will match you with the most suitable employer.
What if I need to leave earlier than planned – is that a problem?
No. If you leave earlier than stated in your employment contract, whether due to unexpected family reasons or simply homesickness, nobody will force you to stay.
We would appreciate it if you informed us in advance so that we can notify the Partner/employer and start looking for a replacement.
What if I want to stay longer than originally planned?
Yes, that happens too. Sometimes people plan for just one season and then decide to stay long-term. If the Partner’s operational situation allows it, this is not a problem.
If the Partner cannot extend your contract after the season (for example, if a hotel closes for the winter), we can help you find another job. However, you must inform us of this intention well in advance.
We can also help you find standard long-term accommodation (a rented flat), long-term employment, and assist with administrative matters such as long-term residence permits. Our lawyer can also assist and provide translations. In such cases, we recommend upgrading to the Premium+ service package.
How does the interview work?
Interviews are conducted online via video call. During the interview, we will discuss your requirements, expectations, experience, job offers, Partners, job responsibilities, salary conditions, etc.
You must have your webcam and microphone switched on.
Further communication – such as confirmation of your start date, required documents, or other details – can then take place via email or WhatsApp call.
I’ve never lived abroad before and I’m nervous…
Everyone is nervous during their first experience abroad – that’s completely natural. With us, however, you have the support of our recruiters, who will guide you through the interview and explain everything you need to know.
You will also have ongoing support from our coordinators, who will help you with everything.
Before arrival, you will receive useful materials with tips and advice for relocation – including maps of affordable shops and other services such as hospitals, barbers, and restaurant recommendations.
With us, you have work, relocation, airport transfer, accommodation, and full support arranged. We can also accompany you to a doctor or public offices and provide a translator if needed. We are prepared for all possible scenarios and are here for you throughout your entire stay in the destination country.
What if I’m not happy with my job?
We understand that not every job is suitable for everyone. That’s why during the initial interview we try to learn as much as possible about your expectations and preferences to ensure the best possible match.
We have personally visited each of our Partners (your future employers) and carefully assessed their working environment to ensure it is suitable, comfortable, and offers fair working conditions.
You will also have a coordinator available, who will stay in contact with you and whom you can approach if needed. The coordinator communicates directly with employers and can help resolve issues. If dissatisfaction persists, the coordinator may propose changes, including an alternative job position.
How is accommodation arranged?
Accommodation is provided directly by the employer. In most cases, this involves shared accommodation with colleagues in a fully furnished flat/apartment located close to the workplace.
Accommodation costs vary by employer and will be explained during the interview. Typically, they range from €100–250 per month. In some cases, accommodation is fully covered by the employer and is therefore free of charge.
Pets are not allowed.
What about the employment contract?
The employment contract is concluded directly between the employee and the employer for a fixed term (as agreed during the initial interview). You will therefore be a permanent employee.
You are entitled to the same salary, benefits, holiday entitlement, etc., as other employees. Health and social insurance contributions will also be paid on your behalf in accordance with local legislation.
We therefore recommend that all future employees deregister from their health insurance provider in the Czech Republic.
What requirements must I meet?
You must be at least 18 years old on the day of signing the employment contract and be an EU citizen. You must also have a valid travel document and a bank account for salary payments.
You must meet the job requirements – experience, language skills, etc. Any additional required documents (licences, certificates, etc.) will be specified in individual job offers.
Are there any fees?
If you receive and accept a job offer (i.e. decide to start work), a one-off fee is payable to Karyon based on the selected comprehensive service package (see here), in accordance with the Agreement on the Provision of Professional Consulting and Mediation Services.
This fee is payable after accepting the Partner’s job offer and confirms your binding interest. The job position will then be reserved for you until the agreed start date.
The only exception is when we are looking for a replacement or filling the last available positions shortly before the required start date. In such cases, we may provide our services to a few individuals free of charge.
Some agencies don’t charge a fee.
Nobody works for free. Agencies advertising zero fees can be misleading. Some agencies deduct a percentage from employees’ salaries, while others employ candidates themselves and then lease them to Partners/employers.
As a result, they take part of the salary, and employees earn less than standard permanent staff.
We do not support these practices and operate differently. The employment contract is signed directly with the Partner, and you are a permanent employee with the same conditions and salary as others. That is why we charge a one-off fee, which is, in the long run, significantly more advantageous than our competitors.
The only exception is when we are looking for a replacement or filling the last available positions shortly before the required start date. In such cases, we may provide our services to a few individuals free of charge.
Do you deduct anything from my salary?
No. Your full salary is paid directly to you by the employer. We never deduct anything from your wages.
What if I arrive and the employer doesn’t accept me?
Our recruitment process and contracts with Partners prevent this, and such a situation has never occurred. Once you receive and accept a direct job offer, the position is bindingly reserved for you until the agreed contract signing date.
The Partner (employer) may withdraw the offer only if you fail to respect the agreed start date, do not attend the contract signing without prior excuse (e.g. delayed flight, traffic accident), arrive under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances, or without required documents – or due to force majeure (lockdown, pandemic, natural disaster, etc.).
If the fault is not on your side, you will be offered another job immediately or your fee will be refunded. This situation has never occurred so far.
How will I stay in contact with the coordinator?
Your personal coordinator will be assigned before your arrival to arrange arrival details, transport to the workplace, and accommodation.
You will receive a phone number, and communication usually takes place via WhatsApp, Viber, or another agreed platform. The coordinator is available during working hours and, in urgent cases, outside those hours as well.
They will accompany you to sign your employment contract and will continue to visit you regularly afterwards to collect feedback.
Under what circumstances can the employer dismiss me?
Our Partners must comply with the employment contract and labour laws, just as in your home country. You are therefore legally protected.
Dismissal is possible only under conditions permitted by the contract and law – for example repeated unexcused absence or working under the influence of prohibited substances.
Our coordinators oversee compliance with the contract on both sides and will intervene and resolve any issues within the scope of our agreements with Partners. You can trust that employers have no reason to dismiss employees without cause.
